Carpets from the Kurdish town of Bidjar have a high reputation for quality. They are made of very high-quality 'cork' wool and feature firm double knotting. One of the specialties of Bidjar carpets is that they are woven with wetted threads. This gives the weave a strong density and a high fineness. Typical for Bidjar carpet is the all-over repeated 'Herati' - pattern, usually with a diamond-shaped central medallion which is skilfully enclosed by a number of divided linear tendrils. Because of their strong double knots and excellent quality they are very durable carpets. They have the best price-quality ratio among the Persian carpets. Very recommendable!
