The small town Mud lies in eastern Iran, at the border to Afghanistan. Here fine carpets are produced usually with a tight Persian knotting. Typical carpet pattern is the all-over repeated 'Herati'- motif with a multileveled central medallion. The rather dark general color is tuned harmoniously in a multitude of colors. These carpets possess very good qualities and are quite durable.
