Sarouk is a large village which is located near Arak in west-central Iran. Today, carpets from the Arak region can all be called as Sarouk. It is an important and historic center in the region, with a respected name in carpet weaving. Patterns usually incorporate floral vines, with red and navy blue as predominant colors, generally carried out in wool of very high quality. Excellent finished wool and firm Persian knotting give them an extra durability.
