Today, carpets from the Arak region can all be called as Sarouk. Typical patterns incorporate floral vine motifs and a dense abundance of blooms and leaves. Usually warm and fresh red and navy blue are the predominant colors. Because of their firm Persian knotting and good quality they are very durable carpets. Early twentieth century, a lot of high quality Sarouk carpets were produced and exported to America, hence the term "American Sarouk".
