The city of Heriz lies in the east of Tabriz (north Persia). Famous for old and antique collector pieces, today's Heriz carpets have usually very good quality. Typical for these carpets is the Heriz red, a pronounced geometrical medallion and stylized floral motifs. They are mainly made with Turkish knotting.
