Carpets from Mashad, in northeast Iran, are mainly made with Persian - occasionally with Turkish knotting. The wool quality is outstanding and well finished; the knots are tight and precise. Small floral and also geometrical motifs and forms are the typical pattern. They are very good and strong carpets.
